Hi! All new to the game I have ordered the MoM box that will arrive on Friday. But when I been reading here I came across stuff abaout warbands and I´m a bit confused what to get next. I´m thinking of waiting to buy the big rulebook for a while and spend money on minis instead. Do I´m thinking of buying the Free peoples book since I wanna make a Durin´s folk army. Now to the real question finally In what book can I read the rules for warbands? (not army list and so but the rules on how to play the game using warbands) |

Any of the sourcebooks (Kingdoms of Men, Free peoples etc) has the warband rules in. The MoM rulebook is good for basics but I would recommend picking up either version of the new hobbit rulebook. A quick ebay search should bring up plenty of the small hobbit books from the starter set. |

Thanks! Good thing I alredy decided to get The Free Peoples sourcebook then! I will probably waith for a few months before picking up the Hobbit book, i will start just playing games with friends and learn the basic rules and concentrate on building an army and the get the latest rules when I feel confident. Thanks for the help! |

surely it is best to learn the latest rules from the off? and the mini book shouldnt be more than £20 which is the price of the sourcebooks. |

You will also be happy to know that the small rulebook which Southern Dunedain is refering to also has the rules for playing with warbands. |

Yeah get the new version first, otherwise you'll be thrown off when you play with them. The new rules have changed the basics from the old set. I would army build, and get the small starter hobbit rulebook or save up to get the hardback |

Hm, I didn't know there were big changes to the basics of the game. Then I will probably do as you suggest and get the new rulebook. Are all the profiles for old Lotr models included in the hardback hobbitbook? Thanks for the advise guys! |

The profiles included in the new hardback are the ones from the first movie. But combined with The Free Peoples sourcebook you will have all the profiles you need for a Dwarven army. |
