I would like to know what figures people here use in place of GW LOTR figures. I just ordered a few boxes of Conquest Normans to use as various Fiefdoms. With a little conversion skill I can make any number of different poses out of these. I can even use heads or arms from GW plastics to make unique figures. So, what figures do you use in place of, or in addition to, GW products? |

I've bought several of ebob's miniatures, especially his rebellion range is of an excellent quality. Though I've never bought something from them, you might want to take a look at perry miniatures' crusaders range and wargames factory hammer of the gods range. And ukfreddybear also sells some high quality stuff. http://majesticbear.net/ |

I'm starting an Anglo Saxon army using Gripping Beast and Wargames Factory miniatures, mainly for the new Dark Age Skirmish game SAGA. But I'm also writing some house rules to let me use them as Warriors of Rhovanion. Gripping Beast has a huge range of other metals for historical periods: Normans, Crusaders, Romans, Late-Roman/Arthurians, Goths, Germans, Early Saxons, Celts, Picts, Irish, Vikings, Arabs Muslims, Andalusian (Spanish) Muslims etc. I saw someone on this site post a photo of some Scots Highlanders from Ebob Miniatures - they looked very good and would look good as Clansmen of Lamedon. |

Some Romano-British soldiers and other armies from the Dark Ages can also make good dunlandings. |

None. If I don't want to fork out for a LotR metal/finecast model, I wil convert them out of a LotR plastic set. Otherwise official minis all the way, whenever possible. |
