Hi there!

I don't know if it's because I have the Free Peoples rulebook in spanish or something but Gildor is a hero from Eregion/Rivendel and his special rule affects Wood elves. The wood elves aren't warriors from that list so I don't know if you have to put a hero from Lothlorien list commanding wood elves to apply that rule or if Gildor can command that kind of troop or if you include Gildor you can include any number of wooden elves in Eregion with that special rule.
Thanks you!!

I have the spanish books too; It isn't a mistake. Gildor is with wood elves, as seen in the book (Fellowship). Does seem a bit strange, though.

Until they update their FAQ, my own home rule is "unarmoured high elves, use wood elves as proxies, and you don't need a lothlorien hero". They probably confused themselves since there are no unarmoured high elf models, but it wouldn't make sense otherwise.

I have a response from Games Workshop Spain. They say something like this (translated)

"The wood elves appear in the page 27 of The Free Peoples book. It is specified that if your army includes Gildor, the wood elves (that would be in other warband) would be improved paying the cost specified by Gildor's rule."

I hope this would helps!

Except their explanation doesn't make sense, since Noldor aren't Wood Elves. If they're going to include a character from the book, they ought to get it right.

Not sure if I'm reading this right, but they're saying that you have to ally in wood elves for that to work?

Thats exactly it. seems just like an ally promotion. Probably work best as a stand alone contingent if you don't want to take warriors from Eregion or Rivendell.

Personally I would go with what whafrog's has suggested about using wood elves as proxies.
