Just a question on painting Khazad guard, what paints did you all use on what, and am I meant to do cloaks green like in the book?

You don't have to do anything like the book , personally i find it very anxious to follow the GW painted scheme as they do not specify how they did it so easily , so ive found it best to just judge yourself... It just a simple case of matching the color on the model with the color you estimate of the paint range. Of course this can tricky when you have all the washes and highlights covering the model. But that will come with experience :)

Paint anything the way you want to and as long as you think they look cool that's the important thing!

Cloaks? I don't think any of them have cloaks? I would peronally suggest earth colours to fit in with them being Dwarves.

You are correct none of the Dwarf elites have cloaks. For my dwarf rangers I do a green that is equal parts Dark Angels Green and Catachan green

Personally I like to paint in natural, realistic colours. My Dwarf rangers all have Vellejo Russian Uniform Green cloaks.

Yet a nice idea for a sculpting thread...

Good work, as Thermo has suggested, its a playing piece for a game and its always good to meet up with other OneRingers etc and use them on the table top, which is what I ended up doing with Sothern Dunedain and Leonardis last Sunday.

Very rustic armor , or just been in a goblin carnage so the nice shiny gold armor has loads of bloodstains and has became all brown and stained.
