I bought this Ares game awhile back just because I wanted to own it. Didn't really want to play it, because I figured the games would be too long and complicated. But it has a good reputation and comes with a lot of miniatures so I picked it up. Lately, I've been looking at some YouTube videos of playthroughs, and took a cursory look at the rulebook. Everything I've heard was that there were a LOT of rules and they were very complicated. But I have to say, from what I've seen, it doesn't look that bad. Doesn't look any more imposing than a GW rulebook, maybe even a lot less. Still not sure if I'll ever play it, but regardless it is an attractive game. |

I love WOTR it is my all-time favorite board game. The immersion into Tolkien's world is amazing. The downside is that it is complicated sure, but worth it. There is an online community that plays on TT simulator on steam. I use the mod that made the pieces look like the movies https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...1538211623 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...2182128092 |
