Very nicely done! Like the detail of the buttons, etc on the coat. Wish I could even remotely be able to sculpt. Did you have a picture/pose you based your pose off of? And not to date myself, had to go to youtube and watch some of the series. (on some of the videos the audio/picture isn't synced very well) I think I also have some of the old 3"(?) plastic figures that came out when the show was on Disney. |

Mapp, No picture. I just made it up. I am old enough to have seen the series when it was on originally. I recall a huge fight over the TV when Disney had Swamp Fox on and Ed Sullivan had the Beatles on at the same time. I do not reacll anf Swamp Fox figures being made. Can we see some? |

Might have spoke too quick, we had AWI figures that probably came out the same time as Swamp fox as we also have a plastic block house that I destroyed somewhat with fireworks and a metal Alamo and plastic davy crocket and santa ana figures. My brothers and I did a lot of playing with the 3 inch figures, then Airfix, etc. Didn't mean to hijack your thread and the great work you did by digressing down memory lane. |

Those are Marx figures. They came in several different AWI sets. One was Johnny Tremain. I am a huge Marx playset collector. http://marxwildwest.com/ Go here to read all about your old toys. |

Old toys? Collectables! Well at least they would be if we hadn't played the heck out of them. Or if our kids hadn't played the heck out of them. Throwing firecrackers at them and shooting at them with bb guns. Thanks for the link, will have to see what else we got in the crawlspace. How did you do your tree? Wire? |

Map, they tree is wire covered with Liquatex modelling paste. I mixed dark brown paint into the paste before I applied it. While the paste was still wet I sprinkled all sorts of colored flocks on it. One tip is to shape the tree then apply the paste. The paste does give and stay flexible but it's better not to push it. Turn the tree upside down and start there. |
