Awesome line work ! love the asymmetry Looks a lot like its influenced from the concept work from John Howe and Alan Lee. I love organic structures so id like to see the finished product when its completed. Are you planning on adding colour? and what medium would you be using? |

Ah yes, and you are right about the influence part. Well, I must say it is finished (apart from a few parts but) and I am just thinking about how I am going to present the work. And I am not planning to add more colours to it, I am very happy with how it worked out (plus there is something about a deadline and two other works have to do for school: art class). I've got a presentation somewhere in April. The medium I am using is pencil (HB, 2B, 5B and two brown colours and one brown/pink like colour (Rouge de Venises apparently, very good pencils). |

Okay yeah if youre not adding colour then it looks great i know the feeling of doing school art pieces and not wanting to develop it further and possibly messing it up and tainting work that youre already happy with If you have the time outside of school id be great to see if you could do an expanded version of this. possibly with more shading to give the shadows a little more depth. In all honesty though, it seriously reminds me of one of Alan Lee's pieces in the Two Towers extended appendices. He was working on a long Rohan tapestry and it was pretty much all line work with limited colour. Excellent creativity, the intertwining branches are balanced well while actually looking like branches. The only thing i can say is that they go a little rigid near the roots with all the corners. Unless you were going for that look |

All the things you've seen are pure intention, And I think I'll make an expansion of this kind of works, and all though the assignment is a free one with the theme 'My Journey' there is time limit.... again.. And it is not about not wanting to develop it furthur, I want to develop furthur but with a new piece! (It will be a great piece for my Portfolio though, along the other things I am making) And I think I know which one you mean. Thank you very much, I'll certainly post more pics of other things I'm working on and eventually the presentation itself. |

again, awesome line work ! And i had a feeling it was mostly intentional haha. I never like critiquing art on the internet cause you cant really what the artist was going for style wise, so anything you might see could be completely intentional, which was the case this time. That middle picture, the thing on the right side is wonderful, you have a nack at linking branches together to make forms. |

Ah thank you! But I must say that some things I've drawn are inspired by other artists, why shouldn't I be inspired by others, so that I get to know how they might have been drawing all those forms and such. For it is something like: look at it. could you make this to, do it and then feel how the technique works. But, yeah thank you!! Well, update 22-3-2014. As you might have seen on my blog (the link is in the description below) you might have noticed I've been working on something else, or rather someting new! I'll be showing just a bit more now, not to much (only 2 pictures). The initial idea.. Has changed into a wyrm lord idea. (the piece of cloth will have a scale detail. And this is how the edges of this piece are going to be, or at least the west and southern edge... Comments and Questions are welcome! (oh... the pictures are already outdated, I think tonight will be more accurate) |

Wow, your work is truly splendid; I know that if I tried to do something similar my eyesight will get all meshed-up haha. What are the dimensions of the first piece, and how much time did it take? |

Post subject: | Re: `Turwaitheon's art showcase (pic heavy) |
Hmm, the dimensions, It has to be just a little bit bigger than A3. (I can't remember all the centimeters anymore.) And it took me about, say, 20+ hours. |

As it seems I'm keeping this thread more updated than I do with my painting log... Well, you can't do anything.. Then, I think it is indeed time for another update ( on a daily basis, yes it is) (I know, the scales are a bit messy but I'll work that out, it will be more defined and detailed and shaded in a few days) I think this piece will be finished in about a week or less, I hope... Comments and Questions are welcome! Turwaitheon. |

Post subject: | Re: `Turwaitheon's Wizards of the East Project 7-6-2014 |
So, it is June already. Time for a new Project: and it is called Wizards of the East. I will post severall drawings about powerfull mages from the Order of the Wizards of the East in the upcoming months. Every drawing is one wizard/mage/sorceress with their own background story, equipment, magical powers, etcetera. The first drawing is now being sketched, it is Siegraïn: Mage of the Heavens Light. Sketch (Head is a bit weird, but it is a sketch of course, and the colours are not very strong.) Also the sketch is based on a picture, so for the official work I'll use that picture as a guide (drawing measurement lines as an example) for shading and drawing the head and other parts that I'd like to use or modify as perfect possible, for a mage of course! Greetings. Ps: Other characters/Wizards are Oberon, the Fairy King. And Titania, the Fairy Queen. |
