Hey all!
So I currently own Modror, Harad, Gondor, Fellowship, Rangers, and Prince Imrahil. I was going to do fiefdoms, but I would be restricted to Swan Knights. And it would cost a bit of $$$$$$ if I wanted anyone else. So I realised i really wanted dwarves. So far I am looking to get...
2 packs of warriors, will convert captains and banners. I get more guys.
2 Vault Warden Teams, I love em, but they add up in cost.
Durin and Mardin-Named heroes.
Dwarf Balista?-Do I need this?
6 Hearthguards-Elite troops.

Thoughts?

I was tempted to do Iron Guard, but realized-They cost a lot of money. So no. I get 4 for like 30 bucks.

When you say dwarves do you mean Kingdom of Khazad-dum, Erebor, Iron Hills, Erebor Reclaimed, or Kingdom of Moria? The older Durin's folk list got scraped with the shift to ME:SBG so the dwarven realms are more split up know and is not a generic dwarven roster for, say, the Blue or Grey Mountains anymore. Murin and Drar also got moved back into the Wanderers in the Wild list so they will be unable to lead troops from any army in the current edition. Since you want to include vault wardens you'd have to raise an army form the Kingdoms of Khazad-dum or Moria. If you want to do that I would recommend buying the two boxes of warriors, plus the wardens and Khazard Guard, like you said. But grab the Durin and Mardin pack for your named heroes instead. That will give you the bones of an army for the Kingdom of Khazad-dum.

Sorry, forgot to specify: Khazad-Dum
Was looking through my army book. I am thinking 2 vault warden teams are enough, correct?

Depends. I would say three for a line centerpiece but two might work just as well.

I was thinking of actually putting one on each side, so that my opponent will not flank me with monsters or make my sides crumble. If they punch a hole in the centre I just encircle them.

I got thinking, and I should probably use the balista to deal with any heavy units(they have a Cave Troll/Balrog/Sauron) So I will probably buy that one.

I would not argue against a bilista but I have not had much experience with them in the past. It would probably be worth in to have as an option though.

As for the wardens, I would counsel against that tactic. If you place the a team on the end of your line then your opponent will be able to rap around to the spear, pull it off, and force the shield to fight at -1 to the duel role. Placing them toward the center protects the spearman and forces your opponent to deal with a two attack center. Durin and Mardin would be much more effective at dealing with monsters in the flanks. Or, as you said, relying on a balista to take them down before the lines clash.

Yes, good point. Centre it is, then the sides of the army peel and flank. Balista takes monsters down, and Durin and Mardin lead the charge.
