I currently have 3 boxed on route. 1 box of dwarf warriors. 1 box of dwarf commanders and one Balista. Can anyone tell me the point count? And also which book I should be looking for for my army? Also would it be worth buying another box of warriors? Also would they fit into a 25x25x50 slot in foam? |

Durin's Folk is in the Free Peoples book from GW: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Th ... Peoples-EN Point count would depend on what you equip them with and which commanders you use. Warriors are the core of a dwarf army but the Rangers are useful as well, being Defense 5 and having access to a Strength 3 bow. EDIT: Whoops! Looks like I got that wrong about the Rangers, oh well. |

Free people's Source Book is where you will find all of the unit options and points costs for the Durins Folk list. Dwarf rangers are great at their low cost, they only have access to str 2 bows, but with 24 inch range as opposed to the warriors str 3, 18 inch range. The huge downside is the Rangers pay exceptionally high for a standard bow. Which makes it not particularly effective to take them with ranged weapons. |

You can field 3 warbands if you use an engineer captain with that ballista. This would bring you in at about 600 points range with full warbands to build that force. If you don't want to bring the siege weapon every time, look in to another command pack or another Durin's folk hero. For troops my next investment would be iron guard, they are deadly for troops. The king's champion is among the best pieces in the game, and a hero to lead a warband. This 600pt list based solely on your available minis: W1: engineer captain, ballista, 6 warriors with shield, 2 khazad guard, 2 warriors with 2handed axes W2: captain, warrior with banner, 6 warriors with shield, 3 khazad guard, 2 warriors with 2handed axes W3: shieldbearer, 8 warriors with dwarf bows, 4 rangers with dwarf long bows. This uses only your minis, and you can tweak and rearrange it at your leisure. It is just a starting point, so hop on GBHL and ask people who know way better than I. |
