Mahud 500 pts and Easterling/Mahud 500 pts

I´m gonna make a mahud 500 points army. It´s gonna take some time ´cause it´s so expensive. here is the list. it´s almost identical to one on gw´s website

Mahûd Tribemaster (Camel, Shield, War Spear) - 76
- Mahûd King (Shield) - 80 pts
- 13 Mahûd Warriors (5 Spears, 4 Blowpipes) - 152
- 5 Mahûd Raiders (5 War Spears) - 105
- 4 Half Trolls (4 clubs) - 88

Total pts: 501

What do you guys think??? comments and criticism welcome

I love the Mahud models, been building up an army myself.

I know he's more expensive, but IMHO a king is a much better deal than a tribemaster, I'd upgrade at least one of them. Their courage is so low you'll have a hard time once you're broken, and with so few models you'll be broken pretty quickly. It's a little like playing elves, you'll break sooner but stay around longer, but in this case your leader *has* to live and be in combat. A King has decent courage, and enough will to make those critical courage tests, and a bit of Might to make a heroic move when necessary.

But I think they are better as allies than the main force. Your numbers will be less than elves, and if you had the misfortune to play against elves, their bow fire would eat you up since you only have max def 5. I think you'd be better off with a simple Harad chief and a host of cheap Harad warriors, supplemented with a Mahud hammer, maybe:

Mahud King, mounted
4 Raiders
2 Half Trolls
10 Warriors

Thanks for the advice Whafrog. I wasn´t really clear i´m at first going to use them as allies for my easterlings and continue expanding them until they are an army in their own right i´l post my easterling/mahud list in a few days

King is better choice. Higher Courage value is important.
Your army is small. So you need some cheap allies. Especially with spears for support.
I´m playing Harad + Far Harad.
Mahuds are strong fighters. Haradrims are very cheap and they have spears to support.

But I think, that Easterligns would be great choice too

Fixed the list now includes a king i dropped a blowpipe, it´s one point to much but my regular opponent will accept that

The king is far better. I myself would ally in a few Harad as meatshields for your Mahud.

Whole force 500 pts

So what do you guys think

Pretty good numbers. Keep your Mahud screened...you have 7 points left, so some spears for them or blowpipes might come in handy.

Arent your 9 Easterlings with shields and spears worth 90 points instead of 81? As the spears are worth 2 points to add, making each one worth 10.

That means you are over. You have 517 points, I would drop 2 Easterlings with shield, then you would be fine.

As far as i know they are 8 points shield or bow and 10 points a spear dude... but maybe that changed...

If you're playing Mahud, that's one of the factors you're going to have to do without.

OK, I just thought this was going to be a thread about full or at least mostly Mahud armies as the title states.
