Anyone who knows any tactics for easterlings. Especially against Elves.

Thanks in advance

Well take 33% of bows... and take EQUAL amount of spearmen and shieldmen, although a tight pikeblock does look cool and pikes are great, BuuuUuUuUt if you don´t have any frond shieldmen then it´s going to get messy...

Also I do recommend taking Amdur, because of his banner rule, and a War Priest for the fury spell.

Other than that I really can´t say... Maybe some Kataprhacts for the "attack on the rear"?

I´m not so sure that Khamul would payoff because his fight value is equal to that of the elves, and thus he wont win so often (thus not regain will).

Now that I think about it I do suggest taking a few captains with shields along with Amdur... and Dragon Knights are worth considering....

Over-all "this way" Easterlings should work against all armies....

you can go 3 ways here. if you're using 33% bows in your force then look to take down his archers, if they have no armor and he's left them where they can be shot you should be able to out shoot him if you have more

secondly you can get a distraction model, some light cavalry like haradrim raiders or wargs normally do the trick. charge them towards the archers and watch them shift attention as your main bulk comes through the front door. however this only works in larger lists, because you need to ally in

thirdly you can just try to close the distance as quickly as possible. using your cavalry to out manouver them.

the shadow lord can decrease his shooting effectiveness as well

getting into hth with elves won't likely go well even if you have pikes and outnumber him. his higher fight value will means he will win more than he loses.

I sincerely don´t recommend using any kind of light cavalry to charge the archers.... it´s just a waste of points... or any kind of cavalry...

but ideed Shadow Lord is a good choice... just sit back volley him, and make him come to you not the other way around...

Hoi there is a veteran Rivendell player in the audience! lol. . I saw a very good easterling tactic once at gamesworkshop and I use it myself now.

Get 33% archer limitation and give them spears. Put them behind your shieldmen with swords and back them up with the shielded spearmen. Because of the phalanx rule your shielded spear men can support through your archers and your archers can still do shoulder shots. You will advance slowly but you won't get too many casualties from the enemy archers (even though they are elves because you have D6).
