It took a couple years navigating the various stages of grief after the killing of Fantasy Battles to realize that Middle Earth--the place which first stirred my love for fantasy--would always be around. Being a fan of Perry models also helps. I used to resent SBG when it first came out, thinking that it took precious resources away from Fantasy Battles. Now I want to be a part of its resurgence! I'm about halfway done painting my Fellowship, with the 9 Nazgul queued up to be painted next, as well as the beginnings of a mighty host of Mordor lined up as well. The plan, as I'm sure many others have also stated, is to also collect a Minas Tirith army so that I can recreate the war of attrition in Osgiliath. |
