Hi there, I signed up few weeks back and haven't said hi yet, I reside in the black country and work in Brum, I can see the two towers from my office and pass the Ivy bush on a daily bases so I'm practically living and working in Middle earth or there abouts.

I've been brought The Hobbit EFGT for christmas by my wife for me and my little lad to play/paint. I used to play a lot of 40k and various other games, but kinda stepped away from it. Now I'm coming back as my son has shown a great interest in the figures and the game, so I'm going to show him how to paint and play with them with a very simplified version of the rules (He is nearly 4). So i'm looking forward to Christmas and looking forward to showing my son how to game properly and enjoying this forum/site immensely :D

Welcome to the One Ring. Its great that you and your son can share the hobby. I hope to share the hobby with my own son one day. (He's 7 now but is more interested in his DS than anything else)

Greetings, and welcome to the One Ring! I play games with my son quite a bit. (He just turned 10). He still makes me nervous with my minis occasionally, but that's what boys are good for, right?

Thanks guys, we have been playing D&D dungeon board game, its designed with kids in mind, he took to it straight away. So I think a simplified rules will mean he can enjoy the Hobbit game as well or at least enjoy painting the figures.
