Hello folks,

I've been snooping around for a little while, really enjoying looking at all the ace painting and modelling being shared on this site and thought I'd finally introduce myself...

I'm a 30+ year old LOTR fan (books, films, soundtracks, figures, and most recently the 1970s radio dramatisation courtesy of my excellent wife who bought it me for my birthday).

I've been painting warhammer stuff on and off since young but have lately been working mostly on the beginnings of a Gondor WOTR force. (I usually go for the evil, gnarly stuff so challenged myself to paint a "good" force for a change.)

[I'll share some pics once I'm permitted to include URLs]

I've finished 9 companies of warriors, archers and knights, and have just added Boromir to the ranks. I've also just begun painting some rangers which I hope to complete over the Easter break and I may start a WIP thread to help when my motivation wavers :)

I guess that's all for now. Happy hobbying!

Hi folks,

As promised, here's a photo of a part of my army in progress:

This is about as close to speed painting as I like to get so the painting's a little sloppy in places...anyways, I'll post a proper WIP thread once I have some more pics.

Cheerio!

Thanks Longbottom Leaf and MacGothmog for the welcome and the kind comments.

I've not quite finished Boromir as I've yet to pluck up the courage to attempt painting his eyes :o

The Minas Tirith in the background isn't a picture; it's actually the collectable sculpt that came with the ROTK DVD :)

I'll take some more pics tomorrow and start a WIP.

Very nice Gondorians! 8) I instantly recognised your Minas Tirith as being the same as the one that's habitually on my fireplace (I have no idea where it is; I've been meaning to compare it to the film's Minas Tirith.)

Looking forward to that WiP! :-D
