Hello everyone, I just thought I'd introduce myself on the forum.

I've recently started collecting LOTR having been a Tolkien fan for years. I have collected models for years, usually airfix, but about a year ago I found this wonderful mumakil model on the Internet so I bought it. More recently (as in 3 months ago) I discovered that there was a lord of the rings gaming system!! So I ran down to my local games workshop and spoke to the manager. Needless to say I am now hooked :)

I did a bulk buy and decided to collect both a good and evil army. So I went for Dwarves (because they are totally awesome!!) and Isengard, because I loved the scenes at helm's deep in the films.

I'm sure I'll eventually be asking for advice on how to field my models to use them best.

Also, how awesome are some of the new finecast releases?! (I've already pre-ordered the dweller in the dark and some of the new commanders)

Regards,

Adam.

Hi and welcome to One Ring. I and many others would be glad to help you. :-)

(IMO the command sets aren't interesting because they aren't new, but the Monsters and Easterlings are awesome.)

I agree, having looked through the rule book lots since I bought it I think that easterlings really were left out of the meetings. The new releases kind of made me wish I'd held out a bit longer, because I would have considered them instead of Isengard (no offence Dead Marsh Spectre)

Having said what did above, I do like my Isengard force for the fact that they seem to be pretty nails so far. I've played a few games of WOTR with them and they showed some elves and rohan who were boss. I haven't used them in LOTR yet, but I look forward to.

On that note, I'm still torn between LOTR and WOTR, I love how immersive LOTR is and how much thought you have to put into it, but I do love seeing whole formations of warriors lined up in WOTR.

I've done all of my bulk buying now :( I have no more saved pennies to bulk buy anything... I should have thought of that before I needed to buy new tyres and pay for a service. Silly me for seeing something shiny and going BUY BUY BUY!!
