I'm about to start painting a high elf force and considering my optoions. I'm interested in understanding how other people have addressed adding shield to the old plastic high elf models . Insta mold and green stuff is the limit of my modelling ability and i can really only yhink of placing them on the back of the cloak , which may come over as naff. |

I've seen a few pics posted here in the past of plastic high elves with blade and shields, and I've actually got a batch waiting for me to cut them up - here's what I saw in the pics and the plan that I'll try to execute - Start with standard high elf with blade overhead - cuts both arms at the shoulder joint - cut the blade right at the end of the left hand by the thumb, freeing the left arm to be re-positioned. Cut as close to hand as possible to preserve as much of the handle of the sword as possible - position left arm out in front of the elf and this is where the shield can/will be placed on the back of the left hand (think of the Cirion Model for a mental image) - now position the right arm in any position you want, as the elf is wielding the blade one handed and ready to strike If I can find any of the old pics I'll try to copy and paste or you can try a Google image search Good luck ! |

You can check my WIP for inspiration on poses. viewtopic.php?p=383225#p383225 Instant mold and green stuff will get the job done but do not expect that the detail level will be the best. |

Oh hum I didn't consider this last option, it looks goos and relatively simple to do. I was thinking of not cutting up the model. However I do wish I had posted these questons earlier, itchy fingers means I've base coated the models already, . |
