On my WIP thread I just posted some pics of Gripping Beast civilians I painted up to be used as Rohan Villagers among other things. I thought it would be helpful to compare Reaper Townsfolk to them to see how well they scale to GW LOTR figs.
As you can see the Reaper figs are hefty. Bigger than the Gripping Beast figs and certainly bigger then LOTR. I think the GB figures scale very nicely with LOTR. If you aren't obsessive compulsive about scale the Reaper probably looks ok on the table. Lots of scale issues tend to blur once out on nice looking battle table.
