Hey all, I'm wondering about the base size of the Isengard Troll. Originally, the metal one looked much more like a Cave Troll which would insinuate a 40mm base. More recently, the plastic one comes with a 60mm base and the Troll is Mordor Troll-sized. I'm thinking of converting a plastic Cave Troll into an Isengard Troll, but I'm unsure the base sizes would match.

Isengard trolls and mordor trolls utilize the larger "monster" base size rather than the cavalry base size that cave trolls are on.

The plastic cave troll is too small to convert IMO. it would look odd.

Thinking about it, why should all trolls in any given force be exactly the same size? Surely there would be a bit of variety? I would say go ahead and make the conversion but I would suggest using spare parts from the plastic troll kit to 'Isengard' it and also put it on the 60mm base. I like to see a bit of variety in armies.

What size was the base of the metal version? I've tried looking online and can't find any good reference pictures. If someone could post a picture comparing it to a Cave Troll and/or metal Mordor Troll, that would be much appreciated.

I am 100% sure the base size is 60mm. I have two metal ones, and three converted from the plastic mordor kit. All 5 have the same base size.
