The 4th Modor Uruk and Mahud warrior are my long missing as well . . . though I may have my hands on the Mahud soon. Its a frustrating hunt, but that makes the capture all the more beautiful.

How rare is the wood elf unreleased banner bearer? It's right on the front of the mirkwood supplement. Are there any of these in circulation?

This is the one I'm talking about. I haven't seen any of these in bare metal. Do they even exist? If so I consider it more rare than any mahud of uruk since I've seen some pass by in this thread

What does the captain look like then? Is it the one they put in the blister which was pretty common or it the captain rare like the banner?

That is one ugly miniature. I'm glad they never released it, looks VERY un-LOTR. But still, cool that you own it.

Her character stats do appear in one of the supplements (Fallen Realms?), so there were plans afoot for wide release but it just didn't happen. I was lucky to pick her up.

Her stats also appear in WOTR book page 201.

The replacement Elf Banner Bearer was rushed IMO, the figure looks based on the Horn Blower, its right arm is shorter than the left. The story i heard was production problems with casting and a replacement had to be made quickly, the book had already gone to print.

That always looked dodgy to me that unreleased banner bearer. The right elbow is way too highly placed and unnaturally posed. Its almost as if some amateur sculptor has poorly converted an existing mini then cast it up but I'm sure that's not the case.

For the life of me I cannot see what would make them cast the banner flag separate like that though. There is absolutely no reason to from a mould/casting perspective.

I think what you have there is a preproduction prototype. There were likely other banner designs made but that one was approved. What then normally happens is the mini is assembled then recast in one piece for the production moulds. However, I believe someone up top probably noticed the unnaturally positioned arms and ordered a resculpt of the figure before it ever got from the master mould to the production ones. So very rare indeed. A bit lazy of them to just convert a sentinel for the replacement though, but a quick fix if a deadline was looming.

I believe that captain is the one photographed on the cover of the FoTN suppliment. I always hated the one that got released. Looks like he has no neck.

They both look good, but I can see a lot of problems with the banner bearer.

The queen Beruthiel looks indeed very weird, she reminds me of a vampire of Warhammer Fantasy.
