No, you are not allowed to post that kind of stuff here or anywhere because of the copyright of the Game, but the closest things to the rulebook would be the 3-4 PDF file pages that you can get from GW's site, they give the most basic things about the game. If you need a link, tell me and i'll post it. hope that helps |

With the amount of models you have, you might have more fun with the Strategy Battle Game. |

So actualy my army is cheaper to purchase (cash wise) as i have less models... 1000 pt army is gonna cost about £150 (exc. Epics). generalripphook wrote: Just tell me one thing does it work just th same as warhammer fantasy but with a few tweaks? not sure never played warhammer, but WoTR is closer to Warhammer than SBG, so i've heard. |

generalripphook wrote: Just tell me one thing does it work just th same as warhammer fantasy but with a few tweaks? Not even remotely. WotR is a much more streamlined ruleset designed for bigger armies and faster play. Some of the biggest differences are The basic operating unit in the game is not the individual miniature but the company (one movement tray of 8 infantry or 2 cavalry). So instead of having, say, a regiment with 25 individual miniatures like in WFB, you have a formation of 6 companies, each company is a separate "thing" with 8 guys on it but the 8 guys always act together. Turns are not "I go, You go" like in WFB. Instead both sides will move then both sides will shoot and so on. This has the big advantage of reducing the amount of time you have to wait for your opponent to finish his turn so you are much more actively involved in the game. It also creates more strategic elements. Oh, and WOW did it take us a while to get used to that. I can't tell you how many times we played in the beginning and would have someone move then shoot then charge then we realize that the enemy was supposed to have already moved and shot as well. Attacks are all resolved on a single roll of (many, many) dice. Instead of WFB where you roll to hit, then you roll to wound, then the enemy rolls armor saves then he rolls ward saves. Most of the time in WOTR a fight can be resolved with a single roll of a handful of dice. (I think my record is 42 dice in one attack.) Those are a few of the biggest differences, there are many more. |

I mean I like both for various reasons, SBG I love because you can play games that are closer to the books and films than WOTR will ever be WOTR I like obviously you can play with massive armies when you're looking to spill a lot of imaginary miniature blood generalripphook, how many models do you have in your army anyway |

You'll probably need more than that if you're looking towards a decent sized WotR army. I have about 100 high elves and they're about enough to get me 1,000 points with some heroes thrown in. |
