Post subject: | Good Points Match Setup? |
Hi, after my most recent skirmish, I have reworked a few of my tactics and will be hosting an event for 4 friends and I. Pooling together resources, this is what we came up with. Events- Tutorials: For New players To the Death: 3 vs 2 Hold Ground: 3 vs 2 Army: Good- 3 players I will be taking a stalwart Dwarf force composed of rangers, hammers, Iron Guards, and Dain. My friend will be wielding a force comprising of WoMT's, some vets, and Faramir (slight chance of him allowed to bring Damrod). My other friend will be taking Theodred and some Rohirrim foot soldiers, and some Royal Guards. Evil- 2 Players Against us is an army of Uruk scouts and some Wildmen led by Mahur, along with a contingent of Orcs with some Black Guards leading the charge. Also, some Moria Orcs will be tagging along with them. HOWEVER Every evil model (including Mahur) will be able to "respawn" twice each, to represent reinforcements and also account for the huge number gap. It will allow them to have actually more points then us since their number is multiplied by 3, but it's a staggered reinforcement line. What I need help with: Terrain- I have some ruins that will form the center, but I need some basic trees, rocks, grass, etc that can quickly be built and taken off of a coffee table. Reinforcement Rule- Is it fair enough (keep in mind it's not too competitive but we want to keep it in the ballpark)? Painting- Both Mahur, Theodred, and the Guards seem a little daunting to paint. Also any tips for black armor without just leaving the basecoat showing (for the Uruks). All help is appreciated Once I get some feedback here I will ask for tactical help. (NOTE: There will be no warbands, only forces that will deploy in set deployment zones) |

It's better and easier if you just play with both play with the same amount of points on each side to be honest. |

For grass on a table, unless you have a mat you can just use a green bedsheet. Rocks are easy enough - crack up pieces of pine bark from a tree, paint them black, drybrush grey up to white. Then add flock and sand as you prefer. There's lots of good terrain guides in the tomes of wisdom. |
