Roster.pdf Interactive Battle Companies Roster: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-c ... Update.pdf FAQ What do I need to have all available information for Battle Companies? In order to have every officially available rule, scenario and battle company for Battle Companies, you'll need: The Middle-earth Battle Companies book, White Dwarf November 2017, White Dwarf January 2018, White Dwarf February 2018, White Dwarf April 2018, White Dwarf June 2018, White Dwarf August 2018. Furthermore you'll need the main rulebook for the main game (Middle-earth SBG) and the profiles of your battle company, which can be found in the Armies of The Lord of the Rings or Armies of The Hobbit profile book. What is The Search For The Stone? It is a campaign that is like The Quest for Fornost in the Main Battle Companies Rulebook, with the difference being that it is written mainly for the Evil Player. Like the original quest, it can also be played by the other player, though this might make less sense thematically. Special thanks to Mapper, Scib and werennor for updates! |

(I put this info first into the Battle Companies Book thread, but Mapper gave me the hint to this thread, so here is a copy of my post from yesterday:) GW anounced to edit more battle company descriptions in the White Dwarf journal. In this August edition of WD are contained the rules for 4 new battle companies (rangers of the north, Osgiliath, Cirith Ungol and Khand) and 1 scenario. I'm not very interested in the other tabletop systems, but I bought this WD just for the 6 pages of battle companies stuff. The companies are quite interesting, but with limited career chances for the warriors. |

A new 128 page book for Battle Companies is coming, as announced on the stream. We don't know if this a new edition or a supplement. |

Nice! I hope they will make some nice new lists and rules for some nations/regions. And hopefully more scenario's and a good balance in the ratings from special rules (like pinpointshot is now worth as much as lethal aim...). |

New downloads available: Campaign map: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp- ... mpaign.jpg New roster sheet: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp- ... Roster.pdf April White Dwarf had an article about the New Battle Companies book and a battle report on a round robin tournament between four companies (pgs 82-93). The four companies were Fiefdoms, Iron Hills, Gundabad, and Harad. Nicely painted models but no conversions. |

First of all, thanks Voyager360 for compiling this list! July 2019 White Dwarf Hunt for the Lost Ring (part 20 - pgs 116-117 Scenario 3 - The Banks of the Anduin pgs 118-119 Scenario 4 - Across the Carrock pgs 120-121 Scenario 5 - The Dragon's Hold pgs 122-123 Some notes on these scenarios: Scenario 4 has the evil company fighting Woodsmen. Woodsmen have the Man, Infantry and Warrior keyword, and has a new profile. The picture accompanying this scenario only shows them from the back in profile - looks like Lake Town Militia figures. Scenario 5 - Victory is killing the dragon, chance that your whole Battle Company could be wiped out! |

Quote: Scenario 3 has the evil company fighting Woodsmen. Woodsmen have the Man, Infantry and Warrior keyword, and has a new profile. The picture accompanying this scenario only shows them from the back in profile - looks like Lake Town Militia figures. In the scenario description woodmen do not habe armour, only one and a half handed axes and their high strength. In my opinion Lake Town militia are not really fitting as a replacement for them. But which other models could I use? Wild Men from the Rohan neighbourhood? But These are Evil models (and I don't have any of them an would Need 12 with axes …) I suppose the author of the campaign had someone like a smaller Beorn in mind, heavy axe, bare chest, long hair. What models would you use for Woodmen? |

Post subject: | Re: Battle Companies Resource List |
The picture definitely shows Laketown Militia with the oop Captain in the middle. You use to be able to buy militia in three packs of axes, swords and bowmen. Now to get the 12 with axes would be very expensive. A cursory look on the web for non-gw figures with axes were either armored or bare chested or peasants with pitchforks etc. Typical GW scenario with figures that the average gamer can't afford. |

I am actually hoping they will release a large War of the Ring supplement after War in Rohan. Not for the game system WotR but for all those parts of Middle-earth that also had to fight against the forces of Evil during the War of the Ring, such as the Beornings and Woodsmen. With of course new miniatures to accompany them. Lake-Town Militia are indeed expensive and also don't really fit as Woodsmen/Beornings in my opinion. I don't think it's that far-fetched for it to happen actually, so here's hoping. |
