Stopped into local GW store today, they had an open box of the Battle of Pelennor Fields - all I can say is wow! Seeing it on the web and seeing it in person - no comparison. Pictures on the web have not done Theoden justice - the detail on the plastic hero is amazing! I don't think my poor eyes will be able to give him justice. The detail is really noticeable when compared to the other rohan figures. The Mordor troll and Fell Beast spruces are full spruces so multiple options on building them. Just basically wow - definitely worth the money. |

I was not really taken with the new Theoden model to be honest. Perhaps it will look otherwise when it is all built and painted but I just think it looks a little to machined and flat in the armor and scale sections of the model. Just my first impression though. |

The CAD sculpt feels really not organic on the armor/scales indeed. And I dont have anything against digital sculpting.. Also really weird theoden is like a 10 part model.. but the reins/alternate heads etc are really awesome |

I do like the mounted version of Theoden, but I don't need the other models so I won't be getting the box. Nice deal though. |

I really like the plastic Theoden. I always found the armour on the original very difficult to paint. The new one has raised lines to apply the gold trim to. He's a really sharp, clean cast. He might be my vote for Citadel mini of the year. |

I'm so excited to get my hands on him and paint him once my order arrives. It's been ages since I've painted so definitely gonna get myself warmed back up with some Warriors of Rohan, but Theoden is going to be a real treat after that. Very excited to see what other heroes receive new plastic sculpts—I hope those plastic Faramir rumblings are on the mark, as he's one of absolute favorite characters but his armored model just isn't quite up to where I'd like it really. |

No terrain. They suggest using books and stones from the garden. |
