I have to say I’m a bit distressed by the proliferation of 40K rules/conventions and the 40K mindset in LOTR. GW, please keep your 40K out of my Hobbit. Ancient enemies = Hatred Berserker saves = Feel no Pain (which to be fair, has been there in Fury for years, but I never liked it) Those more familiar with 40k could probably find a lot of other examples. The 40K mindset of “every unit needs its own needlessly complex special rule” seems to be permeating the current Hobbit design team. Can’t Azog’s flail just be a two-handed flail? Do we need a bunch of rules for it that no one is going to execute correctly in-game? I’ll have the book this afternoon and I’ll be able to study the profiles in detail, but I liked when LOTR was a simple game. Even so, I’m still glad to have the book, and glad the game is getting support. |
