Fantastic. The chainmail looks very regular and even, not at all the like the ordinary old stab-it-with-a-pen method. And the curves on the cloth is very realistic. And the hair - and the face - and the, and the, and the. It's a stunning piece. |

I do believe some of you are under the misconception that Old Man Willow is the sculptor. Charlie is merely bringing the piece to our attention. This is the work of Tom Meier, who is a professional sculptor of extremely high caliber. His tutorials and blog have helped me develop to the level I'm currently at today as I found his work quite inspirational when I first started out (and still do for that matter). |

That is very true I am not Tom Meier. The green is in the style of some of his early work. Iron Wind Metals Company is going to reintroduce some of the old models. |

For those that aren't aware, Meier does loads of stuff in this style, and while the lines aren't all complete, they are well worth a look: http://www.thunderboltmountain.com His Elves and orcs are very Tolkienesque, and some of the historical/Arthurian stuff would be great for the lesser-known/underrepresented men of Middle Earth. |

I'd happily buy an army of those. Long chainmail hauberk, two-handed axe, long braided hair.. what's not to like. Basically a late-period Viking, but ever so slightly more elegant. |

Yeah, I'm going to have to pull the trigger on buying an army of his High Elves, Wood Elves and Goblins eventually. Especially since his high elves could make rather great replacements for the armoured Mirkwood Elves (cheaper, too) |

A very eye-catching elf sculpt. I cannot remember whether any of the First Age elves used axes or not. |

Beautiful piece! Very realistic, as others said. He looks like an angry Noldorin (or Sindar perhaps), running straight out of the Silmarillion. The axe also looks surprisingly Elfish. |
