Not sure if this is the right place, mods please move if not. Have just got back from the film, loads of miniature ideas so thought I'd start a wants list... Or more a wants list with possible conversion ideas... Not sure we will get any of these so I'm already thinking in terms of kit bashing some. Trolls, catapults, battering rams, weapon hands. (The three trolls plastic kit might be a starting point for kit bashing some of these) Goblin mercinaries, (kit bash idea goblin town goblins with armour added via plasticard/greenstuff) Moria orcs (no kit bash ideas here) Half trolls (again, no idea here) Iron hills dwarfs (grim hammers, would need spears and different shields) Dwarf ram cavalry Dain/on boar and on foot Bats The nine wraiths New action poses white council |

I'll try to aim for a similar release pattern to the one we've just had, but for a second supplement I'd like: Week 1: Dain, Foot and Mounted Iron Hills Pikemen Iron Hills Captain Thorin, Fili, Kili and Dwalin on Rams (two a pack?) Iron Hills Ram Riders (2 a pack) Week 2: The Necromancer of Dol Guldur The Nine (four two-packs and the witch king seperately) Week 3: Armoured Azog Armoured Goblins Bats Half Trolls Troll (maybe with a couple of options in the pack - ram head, or knife hands) Week 4: Thranduil on Elk Thorin with Orcrist and stripped down armour Gandalf with new staff, foot and mounted Return Journey Bilbo (probably the last model ever made for sbg) Roughly comparable in terms of pattern (Heavy release, character release, heavy release, character) and if entirely in finecast it shouldn't prove a risk to profitability. I'm assuming that the White Council will get new minis shortly, based on their inclusion in the book - otherwise they're very out of place. |

Have not seen the film but... no giant worm? Radagast on eagle? I am pretty sure that we will end up waiting a while for anything after the initial release. Most likely have to wait for DVD release for some 'spoiler' releases to be allowed, that is why most of the stuff we are getting is stuff that is either out of place or from the previous film and not much in the way of 'new'. Some can say it is due to last minute CGI alterations, but I think that if you follow any other toy company making film franchise stuff, they usually have another wave that doesn't come out until after the DVD release. This is pretty much a standard for action figures. I am only assuming of course, but I bet that GW has some restrictions here as well. If they are planning a bunch more new releases, then the profiles release makes no sense at all. I have a feeling that the rumor of a WOTR Hobbit release is true and that it will come later in the year and with new releases (tons of them) and the SBG profiles will only be in WD or pdf. Which is exactly how it was when WOTR came out. And if it holds true, maybe all the plastics people want will hit then, Troll kits, Dwarf kits, new Mirkwood kits with spears, and the plastic bard and alternate Thorins Co. all that stuff.. Man, I hope I am right. |

My wants: Dain on boar/pig Tharanduil on Elk Ironhill Ballista (Trailer, probably will be in EE) The Nine Wraiths (really we want these and are much cooler than GW's interpretation except for the Marshal) I don't need anymore trolls or goblins, I don't care for them. The bats seem interesting. Azog in armour a must. |

I want to be able to have a Beorn Bomb from an eagle. Azog with Armor, trolls with catapults, mostly because those trolls were absolutely massive. The battering ram troll would be awesome. New goblins and orcs is a must, especially if they have extra speed to represent how those 'mercs' got there faster than the rest of the Gundabad army. |

Sacrilege83 wrote: What did you guys think of the Irohill dwarves anyway? Worth getting in resin next to those Grimmhammers? Of course plastic would be preferable. Thought they were cool. Nice picture, i haven't seen that before, in an early trailer there was a Dwarf chariot traveling fast and hitting the side of some rock walls, did i dream this or what? Loved the Ironhill Dwarfs, hope we see them one day. |

Maybe that's how they were initially going to get to Raven Hill and they changed it to the rams because it makes a bit more sense. |

Theres a lot id like, but most we can proxy or convert. Personally, Id be happy to get and even buy some evil elites if we can get them. Like some models that are Azogs Guard or something along the lines of a 16-18 point model. For stuff like that, id be happy to spend the finecast prices. I just want something that will stick around on the battlefield better. Also in my dreams some of those Iron Hills dwarves and Dain. I dont even need him on the pig tbh although it would be awesome. I already have enough Goblin Town goblins and orcs to make mercenaries with some glued on armor. Same with the trolls....because people make some awesome conversions. Im sure we'll see some in the coming months that look awesome. I would love to see the 9 though in the three packs similar to the Dwarven units. Id imagine theyd be awesome in their ghost forms from the movie similar to a Mouth of Sauron combat wise but with upgraded magic. Like a Mouth of Sauron worth 85 points and each a minor special rule. |

Im sure we'll see some in the coming months that look awesome. I keep hearing this, but what some people don't seem to notice is quite how different from existing Trolls some of the new Troll variants are. Whilst the "normal" Attack Trolls (including the one with peg legs, the one with scythes for hands and the one with chains/flails for hands) may follow the same basic body size/type of the Mordor/Isengard Trolls and of the Hobbit Trolls, and the Cave Troll with battering ram is well a Cave Troll, but the other types are radically different. (I myself will be making a couple of the Attack Trolls just in case, and some Goblin Mercs) The smaller, white stunted Trolls are not only a different size (closer to that of Cave Trolls), but they are also a different body shape. I suppose you could get a Cave Troll and replace it's head with Bill, Bert or Tom's (and possibly deform one of the arms) but it still wouldn't look close to the shape & proportions of the ones in the films. Similarly, the Catapult Trolls are much much larger than other Trolls, and whilst they do follow the same shape, they are more upright and need to be big enough to allow a decent sized catapult and at least 3 goblins on its back comfortably. So essentially both this and the stinted trolls would need to be scratch-sculpted and that just isn't an option for a lot of people, myself included. |

Man listen I've got very little talent for conversions and everything. We just need a little imagination. I'd be happy gluing a stupid hunk of something on a cave trolls head. As for Blackbeard the peg leg troll that is one of the few things I disliked. I though it looked terrible. |

This move is the first in the trilogy that has made me excited over the potential miniature releases, so much evil goodness! Although GW is probably continue their fine tradition of disappointing me |
