Was that Gandalf in a prison cell at 0:38 in the new trailer? |

Tauriel: "...are we not part of this world?" Oh come on, that line has been used by Merry to persuade the Ents already. |

Aye, that is a really neat trailer... 'I am king under the mountain!' Awesome |

[Copied and pasted from another thread] Dear hobbits above... If that doesn't get you excited about the film, I don't think anything will! So much to love... where to begin? (Obviously spoilers for those who haven't seen/wish to stay away from the trailer) Click to: Show Also, this spin on Bard reading it as a prophecy is perfect! From the few shots we've had I'm really warming to Bard's character and can't wait to see him properly, although I still think he's Orlando Bloom's long lost twin Regarding Bolg, I had a little glimmer of hope for him during the trailer; not only during the ominous voice-over like you pointed out, but around the 2:10 mark during the fighting atop the walls, we see an orc swing a rather large and brutal maul over Tauriel. Unfortunately though, after rewinding and watching it over a dozen times, the actual orc doesn't resemble Bolg in the slightest... curses, foiled again! I think we're just going to have to wait and see what the movie brings... |

Looks great, but Tauriel's jump at 1;45? That was painful to watch |

I am looking forward to this a lot. It looks fabulous - PJ and his crew get so much depth and detail into Middle-earth. I loved the stairs built into the dwarf statue flanking the gate of Erebor. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf8Fwiy0Bkc The song that will be at the end credits of DoS, by Ed Sheeran, has also been uploaded to YouTube here. Sounds pretty decent! |

Best trailer indeed!! The rest of the trailer got me so-so excited but this really makes me unable to wait!! As already discussed, Richard Armitage really has the voice for Thorin with the subtle changes.. And Bard also really seems a likable character, though I fear they will make him like Aragorn. Him knowing that he is the right king of dale and so threatening Thorin. Thranduil also looks like he was really well cast. Soft voice but also kind of a b*tch, not caring about how long anything will take. Also the friendship between Balin and Bilbo seems to be done properly. Can't wait!!! |

The first part of trailer instill me a sense of homesickness. And finally, I hope, an original and different soundtrack |

This ranks at 10 on my AwesometerTM. The first movie was enjoyable, but this installment looks to be masterfully told. |

I am really having to work hard NOT to watch these. I'm so excited to see the film but I fear the trailers are so cool they're giving away spoilers. Thankfully it's not much longer. @Wayfarer: Bard did take his role as heir to the kingdom of Dale serious in the book too (as far as Hobbit could show). If I recall correctly he pretty much tells the Master of LakeTown that he's going to take as many people as want to join him back to Dale and rebuild his kingdom after he killed Smaug (or something like that). I am pretty sure he's flat up direct with Thorin as well. Even when Thorin says he won't talk to him with the Elves there he basically told Thorin 'tough...they helped us after Smaug trashed our town and we're together in this'. |
