Due to some restructuring within the business it has been decided that we will not be hosting or running any Games Workshop Grand Tournaments in the US this year.” We know this will come as a disappointment to many who have enjoyed the resurgence in the GWGTs over the past two years, and as such this isn’t a decision we have entered into lightly. This will give us the opportunity to step back and develop an even better experience and overall tournament circuit that will be able to apply to all of North America for 2010. In the meantime, we heartily encourage anyone looking to get their tournament fix in to participate in the remaining shows on the GW Tournament circuit as well as the other great independent tournament and events that will take place throughout the rest of 2009. http://gwuscommunity.com/?p=442 Dissappointing news for those of us that like to travel as part of the tournament circuit. I was really looking forward to the Vegas GT in the fall. |

The phrases "restructuring" and "step back" sound like economic issues to me. I'll bet "if" they come back it will be a much smaller circuit with fewer venues. A sign of the times... |

It's certainly an odd move for a company that should be pushing to maintain its core of dedicated customers. On the other hand, I had neither the time nor money to travel to multiple events. If it wasn't scheduled close to me, I couldn't really make it. |

As far as I remember GW two main markets are now Canada and Central Europe. To be honest I'm supprised they decided to go with such drastic mesures. I expected them to cut one or two US GT but to resign entirely. Good thing they left EEGT alone...for now |
